Welcome back everyone! This week, Daily Fashion Fix is all about comfort. If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know I'm a total fan of what I call "pouncey" ware. LOL! What is that exactly? ... Allow me to explain:
Definition - "Pouncey' (adj): pöunćē:
1' - The state of being catlike whilst hunting for prey, in this case, potential love interests. Usually accompanied by a snuggly fitting ensemble as bait.
2' - Angela-ism ... One of her favorite, self created words : )
Speaking truthfully? I'm a huge fan of short, tight, sexy styles. I absolutely love my curves and have no qualms wearing a body-con skirt and cardigan to a meeting (case in point) ... Yet to the contrary, my love affair with all things loose and comfy is starting to firmly take hold as a style favorite as well. That said, it begs the question, how do you pull off looking completely pulled together and fashion ready, while still giving off the air of relaxed indifference. How can you make it all look so effortless?? The answer? PAJAMAS!
Yes, you heard me! One of the latest fashion trends coming down the runway and onto the webpages of your favorite online mags are pajamas & pajama inspired clothing. This trend is being worn by street style blogger connoisseurs and celebs (like Rihanna) alike. So to replicate this look, does this mean we grab our nearest pair of sweatpants and tank top to head out the house? Not quite. Instead, think soft fabrics and femininity.
To master this look, think soft silks and florals instead of form fitting yoga pants & tees ... heels or casual flats rather than sneakers ... flowy kimonos as tops or long hemmed satin pants ... all of which make perfect style substitutes from your everyday work or date ware ... More importantly? You're beyond comfortable the entire time!
Here, I'm wearing this trend in the form of a calf length silk playsuit, stockings, and vintage leather jacket to accommodate the transitional Spring season. To learn more about the popularity of loungeware read the following write-up from Vogue Magazine.
