Fashion Week is fast approaching! As many of you might know, the fashion calendar is broken down into two major segments ... Fall & Springs collection. However, those in the know are starting to see the emergence of new categories of fashion listings hitting both the creative racks of designers and the runway. Whereas Fall & Spring showings remain the standard, smaller collections of "pre-fall,” pre-spring,” and “resort / cruise (vacation)” ware are also starting to make their way to forefront as well.
The rise of these collections have allowed designers, especially newer fashion designers such as myself, to preview snippets of their work to the public before the full debut of their larger collections. As the weather turned unseasonably warm in New York over the weekend, my thoughts again shifted to returning to my own personal designs. As much as I love connecting, growing this awesome blog, and running the royal shop ... If I’m being completely honest, it can take away from the creative / design process at times. In getting back into the swing of things, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and head to my building’s my rooftop for inspiration. There, with an amazing view of the Harlem (Upper Manhattan) skyline, I managed to snap a few photos, which definitely got my creative juices churning again ... Each snap filling my brainstorming session with visions of what my next collection might look like ... One part old school / classic silhouettes, one part edgy New Yorker, one part my usual splash of culture ... I’m excited to see what comes! The Queen is officially back in the design lab! Get excited loves!
